This is a summary of the family history I’ve obtained so far. I’ve given of the four parents their own tab (see menu and click on the surname you wish to view:
Coleman – Emily Jane – parents George Coleman and Jane Wiltshire
Wilson – Abraham – parents Christopher Wilson and Catherine McFall (maiden name sometimes listed as Bunton or Bunten)
Raynor – Joseph – parents Joseph Raynor senior and Rosa Cefaly
Smyth – Mary Jane – parents John Smyth and Isabella Sheils
As part of my search, I’ve included any additional family members who might assist in finding missing parts of the family tree eg. Siblings, Cousins, Uncles & Aunts.
Under each Great Grandparent tab is listed a document titled ‘BDM’ – which is the Births, Deaths and Marriages that I’ve so far located. The BDM is listed in a table format, not a tree diagram because its too hard and takes too long to draw. Plus I keep finding new information which means I need to update the BDM records.
To understand the BDM table, take note:
I’ve included a column called ‘Generation (Gen)’, and this is the generation with respect to the four parents:
X1 – Joseph Raynor, Mary Jane Smyth, Emily Jane Coleman, Abraham Wilson, and also their siblings, cousins etc.
X2 – their parents, uncles, aunties etc.
X3 – their grandparents, and other relations in the same generation
X4 – their Great grandparents, and other relations in the same generation.
I’ve used the above also in the various posts (as a tag or category), so I can remember which generation I’m looking at, because it does get confusing.
The source of my search is mostly the LDS website, but I’ve also visited my local library and accessed the family databases (which the Library has various subscriptions to). I’ve also used the Internet and the National Library Website ‘ Trove’ which has various scans of newspapers up until the 1950s.
